A man who sexually abused a young boy in the 1970s was jailed.Colin Turner, 69, appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court after he had been found guilty of one count of indecency with a child and two counts of buggery.

Hearings were held Wednesday in Jasper County Circuit Court on three Joplin-area defendants charged in separate felony child abuse cases. Michael D. Johns, 52, of Joplin, remains in custody on two counts of child abuse or neglect and a third count of possession of methamphetamine in connection with an arrest six weeks ago.

A tip led to the arrest of an 18-year-old man possessing child sexual abuse material, police stated. According to the criminal complaint, officials received a CyberTip from an electronic service provider Google that suspected child abuse material.
