Vice President Kamala Harris has called her election opponent, former President Donald Trump, to concede the election and congratulate him on his victory. Harris was expected to reach out to the president-elect before addressing the nation later Wednesday afternoon.

President-elect Donald Trump appeared to be enjoying his victory a little too much as he suggested a solution for Kamala Harris' money problems. Trump took a swipe at the Harris-Walz campaign’s finances when he took to social media to suggest that Republicans could help cover the Democrats’ debts thanks to the low-cost successful campaign he had.

President Joe Biden won the popular vote by a roughly 4% margin when he ran against Donald Trump in 2020. According to data from the Federal Election Commission, Biden earned more than 81 million popular votes, while Trump earned around 74 million. Biden defeated Trump 306-232 in the Electoral College.

That bitter, partisan tribalism is a sign of the times, but for it to end someone needs to step up and be the bigger person. Why not Trump?
