Fireworks likely caused the death of a baby red panda at Edinburgh Zoo after she became so stressed that she choked on her own vomit, experts from the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) said on Thursday.

A baby red panda has died due to “stress caused by fireworks” after choking on her own vomit just five days after her mother died, according to an animal rights group.

The three-month-old red panda cub named Roxie died on Bonfire Night at her enclosure. The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS), which runs the zoo, has said there was “probably” a link to fireworks being let off in the city centre and the death.
