The Mountain fire broke out Wednesday morning. By Thursday afternoon, the blaze had burned more than 20,000 acres.

Mountain Fire initially started 8:51 a.m. Nov. 6 in Ventura County. It has burned 20,630 acres after being active for five days. By Monday evening, a crew of 2,399 firefighters effectively contained 42% of the fire.

Authorities say they’ve made significant progress on the devastating Mountain Fire, which has destroyed 174 structures, damaged 74 others, and continues to threaten more than 6000 buildings in Ventura County.
