Nevada Democrats still hold the power in the state Legislature but have fallen short of winning a two-thirds supermajority in both houses that would have stripped Republican Gov.

While Democrats nationally react to stinging losses in the presidential race and U.S. Senate, Democratic lawmakers in Oregon received a boost in this fall’s election, flipping a key seat in the Legislature to expand their control in the state Senate.

Tuesday’s election results for the Wisconsin State Legislature were mixed. Wisconsin Democrats won several key state Senate races, breaking the Republican 22-seat supermajority and laying the groundwork for Democrats to compete for a majority in 2026.

Colorado Republicans denied Democrats a supermajority in the state Senate. But Democrats were likely to renew their large edge in the House.

Political control of the Arizona Senate was on the ballot Tuesday. Six days of counting show Republicans likely to not only retain control of the 30-member chamber, but to possibly gain a seat . The Senate is currently split 16-14.
