A rare Saturday afternoon dual marked the 2024-25 home opener for Iowa men’s wrestling. Perhaps rarer still, a 32-9 win over a quality opponent – including five bonus point victories (three versus foes ranked 17 or better nationally) – after which the #2 Hawkeyes will likely be quite critical of their performance.

Iowa will get its start against Hastings College on Friday at 12:30 p.m. CT at Life University in Marietta, Georgia, followed by the Iowa vs Life dual starts at 6 p.m. CT. The Eagle Madness Open will be the following morning, starting at 9 a.m. CT.

The 2nd-ranked Iowa Hawkeyes wrestling team faces an intriguing challenger in the No. 15 Stanford Cardinal for a Saturday afternoon dual at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

No. 2 Iowa defeated No. 20 Stanford, 32-9, for the first home dual of the season at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Saturday.  The win advanced Iowa’s record to 2-0, while Stanford sits at 3-1.  Iowa ended the dual winning 7-10 matches.
