Lots of snow fell across Colorado in an early November snowstorm, bringing several inches of snow accumulation to several areas across the state. Pinpoint Weather meteorologist Liz McGiffin looks at how the moisture impacted drought conditions.

Colorado’s first snowstorm of the season may not go down in the record books, but it still managed to blow past average monthly snow totals for the Front Range and Eastern Plains and provide much-needed moisture for the region.

The storm system has moved out of Colorado leaving behind sunshine and mild temperatures Sunday. The winter storm brought heavy snow especially south and east of Denver. Many towns in Lincoln and Elbert counties received historical snowfall.

Deep, crusty snow piled up on fields in eastern Colorado after last week’s snowstorm is driving herds of pronghorn onto roads, and dozens of them are dying, state wildlife officials said. Pronghorn are being hit by drivers in droves as they seek refuge from snow-covered fields,

While the reason for the creatures’ deaths may seem obvious, the reasons behind it are less apparent than you might think.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife is urging drivers to slow down and keep an eye out for pronghorns sheltering on the roads until the snow melts.
