Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has vowed to initiate a "cleansing process" across all temples in the state following allegations of animal fat being used in Tirupati laddus. This move aims to respect religious sentiments and restore the sanctity of temples.

In his letter, former CM Jagan Mohan Reddy clarified that the procurement of ghee for the Tirupati laddoo prasadam has been conducted through an e-tendering process, which takes place every six months.

This comes after Naidu and the TDP alleged that during the previous YSRCP government, ingredients such as beef tallow, lard, and fish oil were used in the preparation of Tirumala laddus.

Former Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has accused current CM Chandrababu Naidu of damaging the reputation of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. The controversy centers around claims by the ruling Telugu Desam Party that a lab report confirmed the presence of beef tallow in the ghee used for making Tirupati temple's prasad.

Naidu claimed that the previous YSRCP government did not even spare Sri Venkateswara temple and used substandard ingredients and animal fat for making laddus.

Chandrababu Naidu vowed to take appropriate action in the Tirupati laddus controversy after consultations with religious leaders from the Hindu community.

In the letter, the Jagan Mohan Reddy said that Naidu's "reckless" and "politically motivated" statements hurt the sentiments of devotees and "tarnished the sanctity" of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) board.
