In a boost to the Harris campaign, pop megastar Taylor Swift told her 283 million followers on Instagram in a post immediately following the debate that she would back Harris and her running mate Tim Walz.

Kamala Harris and Donald Trump took the stage Tuesday for their first, and potentially only, debate in the run up to November.

Donald Trump, on the other hand, didn’t adapt! He seemed unprepared. Or rather, prepared only to roll out his usual campaign points: attack his opponent’s record, burnish his own, paint a bleak picture. It was the classic strongman pitch: the world’s a mess and I’m the guy to fix it.
