An investigation is ongoing after a 15-year-old boy allegedly made a threat of gun violence towards a Monroe County school, prompting increased security at the school's homecoming dance.

"It appears the threat was an isolated incident, involving a dispute with an ex-girlfriend," sheriff's officials said.

An investigation is underway after a teen in Ohio allegedly made threats of gun violence toward a Michigan high school, police said. It’s the second time this month the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has responded to a threat made toward a local school.
