After 1701 days away, Mario Balotelli has returned to Serie A. Could a return to Italy's national team yet be on the cards?

Technically, Balotelli has picked up a yellow and a red card in his last six minutes of football, as his time with Adana Demirspor ended with a red card in his final appearance of the 2023-24 season.

Balotelli was introduced after 85 minutes, replacing Jeff Ekhator who had set up Andrea Pinamonti’s 80th minute winner.
