Warmer weather continues into Friday ahead of our next storm system. Rain and and mountain snow will return across parts of the state Sunday and Monday. A warming trend is started Thursday with high temperatures anywhere from a couple degrees to 15° warmer than Wednesday.

A newly formed depression in the Caribbean could enter the Gulf of Mexico as Tropical Sara next week, potentially reducing the chances it could pose a threat to Florida later in the week.

Potential Tropical Cyclone 19 is expected to become Tropical Storm Sara as it approaches Central America, and may be near hurricane strength, according to the National Hurricane Center. It's also expected to cross the Gulf of Mexico and approach Florida. Where it will land? How strong? Still too far out to know for sure.

Winter Storm Warnings, as well as Blizzard Warnings, are now less widespread across northeast New Mexico, as lingering snow, subsiding freezing fog, gusty winds, and cold air will continue to be the main threats for many areas through the overnight hours.

The National Hurricane Center forecasts Tropical Storm Sara could get into the Gulf of Mexico after swamping Central America and crossing over Mexico.
